E. Marian Riner departed this earth on February 14, 2013. She was born on October 30, 1928 in Farmersville, Ohio to the late Lester Marion and Elsie Summers Stebbins. She was the youngest of six girls and was the last surviving sibling. She was a devoted wife and mother who lived life to the fullest. She was an active participant in her children’s lives and always put their needs and interests before her own. Everyone who met her enjoyed her company and outlook on life. Her many joys were teaching fifth grade while in Ohio, skydiving with her husband on week-ends, and meeting so many friends while selling for Avon, and later assisting with their Sport Parachuting business, Parachutes Are Fun! The family relocated from Dayton, Ohio to Millsboro, DE in 1968. She was preceded in death by her daughter: Cynthia McGinnis in 2000, and her husband, Gordon, in 2012. She is survived by two daughters: Robyn Linton, and Deborah Riner, and husband Jack Sweeny. She is also survived by her son-in-law: Jim McGinnis, the widower of daughter Cynthia. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Frances Sweeney; John Sweeney; Gordon Sweeney; Matthew McGinnis; Maggie McGinnis; Lance Linton; Morgan Fry, and her husband D. Jason Fry and a great-grandson: Trent Fry. She also leaves behind many nieces, nephews, extended family members and friends, along with her devoted “lunch ladies.” A funeral service and Celebration of Her Life will be held on Sunday, February 17th at 3:00 PM, where friends may call two hours prior for visitation. Pastor Earl Baker will officiate. All interment arrangements will be scheduled later at the Delaware Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery and will be private. Floral tributes are welcomed.
