Funeral Services
At Watson Funeral Home, we offer your family choices when it comes to funeral services. You may choose a ground burial, entombment in a mausoleum, choose to have your loved ones ashes or buried. We listen carefully to the needs of your family and we help you choose and customize your loved ones funeral. Prices effective November 1, 2009.
We offer a variety of burial vaults through Wilbert Online and burial caskets. For more information and prices on caskets offered by Watson Funeral Home, please contact us.
Services:
Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff and Overhead
For $2,085.00, our services include: conducting the arrangements conference, planning the funeral, consulting with family and clergy, shelter of remains, preparing and filing of necessary notices, obtaining necessary permits and authorizations, coordinating with the cemetery, crematory, or other third parties. In addition, this fee includes a proportionate share of our basic overhead costs. This fee for our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of the funeral arrangements you select. (This fee is already included in our charges for direct cremations, immediate burials and forwarding or receiving remains.)
Embalming
Cost for Embalming is $725.00. Except in certain cases, embalming is not required by law. However, if you select certain funeral arrangements, such as a funeral with a viewing, embalming may be necessary. If you do not want embalming, you usually have the right to select an arrangement that does not require it, such as direct cremation or immediate burial.
Other Preparation of Body
This $225.00 fee includes: dressing and casketing remains, washing and disinfecting remains, cosmetics, restorative work, and beautician or barber. This charge applies to disinfection and preparation of a body for identification viewing and cremation.
Transfer of Remains to Funeral Home
Cost for transferring is $300.00. We transfer the remains within a 50 mile radius. Beyond this we charge $3.50 per mile one way. This covers fuel expense, tolls, use of the vehicle and expenses of the driver.
Use of Facilities & Staff for Viewing at Funeral Home
Our $450.00 charge is per day for a 2 hour viewing night prior to funeral service. Additional fee of $100.00 if viewing exceeds 2 hours.
Use of Facilities & Staff for a Funeral Ceremony at the Funeral Home or Church
This $575.00 charge is admitted for the use of Facilities and Staff for a Funeral Ceremony at the Funeral Home or Church.
Use of Facilities & Staff for a Memorial Service at Funeral Home
This $575.00 charge is admitted for the use of Facilities and Staff for a Memorial Service at the Funeral Home
Use of Equipment & Staff for Grave Side Service
This $325.00 charge is admitted for the use of Equipment and Staff for a Graveside Service.
Use of Automotive Equipment
Use of the Hearse for all transport needs associated with funeral service ($320.00). Use of the Service Vehicle for flowers, equipment and funeral related items ($175.00). Use of Sedan for lead car, family car and all associated service needs ($125.00).
Use of Limousine
Prices are determined from livery company at time of need. This is a cash advance item, as the Limousines are provided by a Limousine Company, and are not owned by Watson Funeral Home.
Forwarding of Remains to Another Funeral Home
Our $2,085.00 charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, care of remains, removal of remains, embalming, or other preparation of remains, if relevant, and local transportation. Includes shipping tray but not airfare.
Receiving Remains from Another Funeral Home
Our $2,085.00 charge includes basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, care of remains, transportation of remains to funeral home and to cemetery or crematory.
Document Fee Surcharge
This $60.00 fee only applies when a signed death certificate is not supplied to the funeral home at the time of removal and a staff member must travel to a hospital, nursing home or a doctor's office to obtain signature(s).
Saturday / Sunday "Weekend" Fee
This fee only applies if the funeral is held on a weekend. The Funeral Home is required to pay our staff overtime on the weekend (time and one half day pay scale). The surcharge is used to cover the payroll. On Sunday, there is only one funeral director on call for at need situations, to conduct a funeral more staff is required on Sunday, necessitating a larger surcharge. Saturday Surcharge: $250.00; Sunday Surcharge: $400.00
Casket Price List
A complete list of casket prices and vaults available through Watson Funeral Home will be provided in your information packet. In addition to the caskets on display in the selection room, every casket available from Batesville is demonstrated in our kiosk.there are many choices available in the ordering book. Prices range from $414.00 to $25,250.00.
Outer Burial Containers
Direct Cremation Package
Our $2,870.00 charge for direct cremation (without ceremony) includes basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, care of remains, transportation of remains to the crematory, and return of the cremated remains to the funeral home for return to the family. Our fee also includes a one hour private family identification viewing allowing the family to pay their final respects in the privacy of the funeral home. Also included in in the package is our basic cremation container, preparation of the remains for the ID viewing, crematory fee and three types of urns available in this package.
If you do not wish to have one of those earns, you will receive a credit of $83. If you wish to provide a cremation container, you may deduct $415 from the above price, however the container must be combustible material which is approved by the operator of the retort and sturdy enough to bear the weight of human remains during transport.
Direct Cremation with Consumer Provided Container
Our $2,455.00 charge is for cremation services with consumer provided container. If such a container is provided, it must be properly combustible, of a material approved by the operator of the retort and sturdy enough to bear the weight of human remains during transport.
Immediate Burial with Merchandise Provided by Consumer
Immediate Burial with Cloth Covered Casket
Our $4,090.00 charge for an immediate burial (without ceremony) includes basic services of funeral director and staff, a proportionate share of overhead costs, removal of remains, local transportation to the cemetery and a Wilbert Concrete Grave Box. If a grave liner is not required by the cemetery, and you do not wish to have the grave liner, then you can deduct $859.00 from the above charge. If you wish to provide your own casket from another source you may deduct $725.00. The immediate burial fee does not include any cemetery fees, grave opening charge by the vault company, or certified copies of the death certificate. (Additional mileage charges may apply.)
Other Services:
Refrigeration Charges (Per Day)
This $45.00 charge is a daily fee for sheltering remains on a long term basis. Three days of refrigeration are included in our basic service charge.
Sheltering of Remains, Without Refrigeration (Per Day)
This $20.00 charge is a daily fee for sheltering remains on a long term basis when remains are embalmed and do not require refrigeration. Three days of sheltering are included in our basic service charge.
Fee for Services of Funeral Director (Per Hour)
This $75.00 charge is by the hour for services of a funeral director in situations not covered above, such as assisting with disinterment or other duties with do required the presence of a funeral director.
Fee for Use of Non-Licensed Staff (Per Hour)
This $45.00 charge is by the hour for services of non-licensed staff for situations not covered above.
Crematory Fee
This $385.00 charge is already included in the direct cremation package.
Special Need Packages:
Watson Funeral Home is pleased to offer a special package for those families in need of financial assistance. This package is only offered for services on Monday through Friday. In order to qualify for the discounted package, it is mandatory to adhere to the services and goods in the discounted package. Any deviation from the details of the discounted package reverts to standard costs and charges for services rendered. "Special Need" packages are designed for financially challenged situations, and therefore cannot be guaranteed prices for pre-need planning.
"Special Need" Package A
This $ 5,315.00 package consists of:
- Basic Services of Funeral Director and Staff
- Embalming
- Other preparation of body, which includes dressing, casketing and cosmetics
- Use of facilities and equipment for grave site service
- Use of funeral home Chapel for a one hour viewing prior to going to the cemetery for the grave site service
- Set-up of tent and chairs at grave site, provision of grave opening and closing
- Transfer of remains to funeral home by our staff
- Use of service car and hearse and automotive equipment
- Cloth covered fiberboard casket with twill interior
- Concrete grave box

"Special Need" Package B
This $ 6,215.00 package consists of all of the items listed in "Special Need" package A with addition of a metal 20 gauge light-weight steel casket instead of the cloth covered casket.

The Samaritan Helping Hands Package
This package is designed as a group of bundled services, merchandise, staff and
equipment to provide a complete funeral at our funeral home or in another location
such as a Church, Community Hall or Fire Station. The cost of this package is
based on a weekday service. If the funeral is to be held on a Saturday or Sunday,
the weekend surcharges will apply. No substitutions, or changing of the
merchandise items is permitted if this plan is chosen. This requirement helps us to
keep the cost of the package low.

Immediate Burial
Payment Policy
Payment is due at the time of services, unless other arrangements are made. Watson Funeral Home accepts checks, cash, credit cards (MasterCard and Visa) and insurance assignments.
In the case of tiling insurance assignments, there are no charges from Watson Funeral Home for this service. We will carry the balance until the assignment is paid, at no interest upon verification of the Insurance policy.
However, a deposit will be required to be paid by check, cash or credit card for the amount of the "cash advance items" which are not Watson Funeral Home charges, therefore we are not able to carry a balance for these items as they must be paid to our outside providers promptly.
Financing is available for those who qualify, allowing for monthly installment payments. If you wish to inquire about this program, please consult with the funeral director.
Special packages are available in case of financial hardship. If you are in need of assistance, please discuss this with the funeral director at the time of your arrangement conference.
Accounts that are in arrears for more than 45 days will be filed with the estate of the deceased in accordance with policies of the Register of Wills Office for payment.
