Martha Ann Clogg

August 20, 1936 ~ June 29, 2017 (age 80)

Martha Ann Clogg of Dagsboro, DE passed in the comfort of her home with family by her side on Thursday, June 29, 2017.  She was 80 years old.

 

Martha Ann was born in Dagsboro, DE on August 20, 1936 to the late Chester Lee and Cordelia Brumbley Clogg.  In addition to her parents she is also preceded in death by a son, John Clogg in 2011 and her five siblings, Russell Clogg, Jean McCabe, Maude Moore, Charles Clogg and Kendall Clogg.

 

 

She retired from the State of Delaware where she was a Laundry Supervisor at the Stockley Center.  During her earlier years she also worked at Snow White Laundry, Dollar General and the S&J Restaurant.  Martha was a member of the Journey Wesleyan Church and a 41 year member of the Dagsboro Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary.  She was an outstanding woman, excellent cook, and the neighborhood mom to all the kids in her neighborhood.  She always had a smile, never met a stranger, outgoing, and the monarch of her family.  She will be missed by all who knew her.

 

She is survived by four children, David Allen Clogg and his wife Paula of Dagsboro, DE; Barbara Jean Shupp and her husband Brad of Dagsboro, DE; Deliah Townsend and her husband Glenn of Millsboro, DE and Donna Robbins and her husband Bernie Riley of Dagsboro, DE.  She is also survived by 14 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandchild and 1 on the way, as well as two special friends, Joan McBroom and Eloise Carpenter, numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.

 

 A visitation and viewing will be held from 4 PM – 6 PM on Sunday, July 2, 2017 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro, DE  19966.  Services Monday July 3, 2017 will include a viewing from 12 Noon – 1 PM and the funeral will follow at 1 PM. at Watson Funeral Home.  Burial will follow at Dagsboro Redmens Memorial Cemetery.

 

Flowers accepted or donations in Martha’s memory can be made to Compassionate Care Hospice, 20165 Office Circle, Georgetown, DE  19947.
