McCall, Jr., Mance

Mance McCall Jr., 67, of Berlin, Maryland passed away on Saturday, February 27, 2010 at Atlantic General Hospital in Berlin. Mr. McCall was born on May 29, 1942 in Salisbury, Maryland to the late Mance Sr. and Georgeanna Dyer McCall.

Mance was a Laboratory Technician for A.W. Perdue & Sons in Parsonsburg retiring after 20 years of service; after this retirement he went to work for the Meatland store in Ocean Pines and then O.C. Seacrets. He was a 1960 graduate of Worcester High School in Newark and a 1964 graduate of Maryland State College (U.M.E.S.) in Princess Anne with a B.S. Degree in Agriculture and Education.

Mr. McCall was a member of St. Paul U.M. Church in Berlin and was previously a member of St. John A.M.E. Church in Bishopville where he taught Sunday School for many years. He also served on the Worcester County Homeless Board and the Worcester County Citizen's Review Panel.

Mance is survived by his wife of 39 years Peggy Hudson McCall, his son Mance McCall III and wife Denise of Hebron, MD, his daughter Valerie Lee and husband Earl of Fredericksburg, VA, his sister Mary M. Hall of Dagsboro, DE, his two grandchildren, Earontel and Jasmine Lee, sister in law Gail McCall, three aunts, Isabelle Jackson, Mildred Owens, and Grace Mann, and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Mr. McCall was preceded in death by brother Claude H. McCall, sister Lillie Gainey, and a favorite close uncle John Dyer.

Services will be 12 Noon, Friday March 5th at the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 405 Flower Street, Berlin, Maryland where friends may call two hours prior. Rev. H. Barbara Harmon and Gladys Gaynor will officiate the service. Friends and family may also call at the church on Thursday evening from 6 - 8:00. Interment will be in St. Paul U.M. Church Cemetery, Assateague Road, Berlin, MD.
