Edward E. "Tobe" Oliphant, 93, of Gumboro, Delaware passed away on Wednesday, March 17, 2010 at the Nanticoke Memorial Hospital in Seaford, DE.
Mr. Oliphant was born on April 28, 1916 in Millsboro, Delaware to the late Elijah James and Sally Hastings Oliphant.
Mr. Oliphant loved farming and was a farmer his whole life. He was a devoted and great family man who dearly loved his children and grandchildren. Tobe loved rabbit and deer hunting and was a member of the Burnt Swamp Sportsman's Association.
Tobe is survived by his 7 sons, Donald Oliphant and wife Carol, Ronnie Oliphant and wife Trish, Vaughn Oliphant and his wife Shirly, Douglas Oliphant, Dennis Oliphant, Richard Oliphant and wife Carol, and Jeffrey Oliphant and wife Libby, his 5 daughters, Norma Lee Short, Becky Evans and husband Donald, Shery Shultie and husband Jeff, Lauessa Dennis and husband Ricky, and Peggy Jalot and husband Rick, his sister Gladys Layton and husband Jay, 21 Grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grand, many cousins, nieces, nephews, extended family and beloved canine friend "Blackie." Mr. Oliphant was preceded in death by 3 sisters, Helen Lowe, Jerdie Hitchens, and Peach Hall.
Services will be 1:00 PM, Monday, March 22nd at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S Washington Street, Millsboro, Delaware where friends may call at 11 AM. Interment will be at Millsboro Cemetery.
