Lessig, Milo Jay

Milo Jay "Mike" Lessig of Oak Meadows, Millsboro, Delaware passed away at home on April 4, 2010, he was 90. Mike was born September 12, 1919 in Stroudsburg, Pa. the son of Walter and Fleda Lessing. He was one of nine children. He was preceded in death by his wife Marion who he was married to for 52 years. He is survived by his son, Alton Jay Lessing and wife Sarah, his daughter Michelle E. McCabe and husband Wade. He had 5 grandchildren and 2 step grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren and 1 great great grandchild. Mike was retired from the Operating Engineers Local 542. Mike was a member of the Community Church of Oak Orchard. He was a member of the Oak Orchard Cheer Center and the Pelican Cove Cheer Center since 1982. Mike was a Veteran of WWII and served his tour of duty in the South Pacific. Mike received the Philippines Liberation Ribbon with 1 bronze star and the Asiatic Pacific Campaign Media with 1 bronze star along with the Victory Medal. A Committal Service will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, April 16, 2010 at 10:00 A Memorial Service will be held at the Community Church of Oak Orchard on Saturday; April 17, 2010 at 11:00 AM.
