Rogers, Anamae R.

Anamae R. Rogers, 78, of Millsboro, DE departed this life to be with the Lord on Saturday, May 8, 2010 at Beebe Medical Center in Lewes. Born in New Castle, DE, on Sept 9, 1931 she was the daughter of the late John and Anna Hall Ryan. She was a homemaker, and had been very active in her community. She was a Charter Member & Life Member of the Indian River Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, and was the last of a long line of Fire Service members in her family representing many, many years of service. She was a member of American Legion Post 28, a "Bingo Queen" and loved crochet, crafts and Quilting. She was a member of the Oak Orchard A.G.A.P.E. Center. In addition to having helped raise about half the kids in Riverdale and Oak Orchard, she was devoted to the Lord and her family, kept an eye out for everybody in Oak Orchard, and was a Richard Petty NASCAR fan. She is survived by her sons: Allen L. Rogers and his wife Deborah; Harvey "Hob" Rogers and his wife Terri and daughters: Joyce A. Bowden and husband Mike; Carol L. Miller and husband Allen "Apple"; Millie I. Charnick and husband, Dave: and Bonnie M. Serman - all of Millsboro. In addition, one brother Toby Ryan, of Townsend, DE. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family. She was preceded in death by her brothers: Jack, Paul, Tobe, Hob, and Oscar Ryan. Services will be Tuesday, May 11, 2010 at 2:00 PM, with Pastor Allen Miller officiating, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. in Millsboro, DE where friends may call two hours prior for visitation. Interment will be at Millsboro Cemetery. Family suggests memorial contributions in her memory to the Indian River Vol. Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary, or the Community Church of Oak Orchard.
