Rowley, Laurence D.

Laurence D. Rowley, 87 of Georgetown, Delaware formerly of Centerville, Va, passed away on June 1, 2010 in Nanticoke Memorial Hospital, Seaford, Delaware. Mr. Rowley was born in Birmingham, Alabama on December 29, 1922 to the late Laurence and Neva Gilmore Rowley. He was a US Army Veteran of World War II. Mr. Rowley previously worked for the Fairfax County Government in Fairfax, Virginia as a map draftsman. He retired in 1987. He loved being with his family and especially his grandchildren. He was a loving husband and father. Laurence is survived by his wife of 43 years, Edith H. Rowley; a son Elwood Rowley of Georgetown, De., son Franklin Kerns of Manassas Va., a daughter Valerie Thomas and husband Keith of Georgetown, De., son Laurence D. Rowley II of Colorado Springs, Colorado and one brother Roland Rowley of Pawleys Island Sc., 6 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 5, 2010 at 2:00 PM at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St. Millsboro Delaware where friends may call 1 hour prior. Interment will be held on Monday June 7, 2010 at 11:00 AM at Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, Delaware. Arrangements by Watson Funeral Home Millsboro Delaware.
