Karr, Edward R

Navy

Edward R. Karr, of Georgetown, passed away peacefully at home,

surrounded by his loved ones on July 5, 2010. He was 61 years old.

Eddie was born on September 5, 1948 to the late Florence Karr Miller

and the late Dewey Miller. He graduated from Christiana High School

in 1967. Eddie met the love of his life, Olive Robinson Karr, and

married her in 1968. He enlisted in the US Navy in 1969 and

proudly served his country for 6 years. Eddie then became a

Correctional Officer at SCI in Georgetown, and then later spent

many years driving a truck professionally before retiring. He

also served as a Commander for the VFW-Georgetown Post.

Eddie loved spending time with his family. He spent many

years by his sons' sides enjoying dirt track racing, drag car racing, and

horse racing. One of his biggest motivators was watching his

grandson, Joey Spicer, on the football field and wrestling mat.

Eddie loved horses, lighthouses, television, and taking trips with

his wife.

He is survived by his loving wife of 41 years, Olive Karr; a son, Mike Karr

and his wife Chasity; a son, Jeff Karr and his companion Marcie Manuszak;

a daughter, Aimee Karr Marzullo and her husband Matthew; eight

grandchildren, Joey Spicer, Jordan, Tyler, Tanner, Alexxis, and Jeffrey Karr;

Carmela and Olivia Marzullo; his dog, Baby, and many other family members that he loved.

Memorial services will be held Friday, July 9, 2010 at 1 p.m. at Watson Funeral Home in

Millsboro, DE, where friends may call one hour prior to the services. Burial will be held

at The Delaware Veterans Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations be made to Bethesda United Methodist

Church, c/o Ann Messick 25202 Mary Road, Georgetown, DE 19947.
