Anna Lee Toomey

Mrs. Anna Lee Toomey, age 83, of Gumboro, DE passed away peacefully in the care and comfort of her family and the staff of the Delaware Hospice Center.

Mrs. Toomey was born in Grundy, VA on May 1, 1933 to the late Allen and Mary Anderson.  In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband, Randall William Toomey, as well as a son, Randy Toomey and a daughter, Pamela McGinnis and five siblings.

 She owned and operated her own poultry farm for many years before handing it off to her son Randy.  She loved puzzle books, find a word and crossword.  She enjoyed watching Joel Osteen, going out to eat and spending time with her family especially her great grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Debbie BeMiller and Brenda Toomey, both of Gumboro, DE; seven grandchildren: Brandy Toomey, Lynn BeMiller, Billy BeMiller, Destiny Kuhn, Randi Carlin, Dale Toomey and Anna Kilgore.  She is also survived by thirteen great grandchildren and extended family members and friends.

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE  19966, where friends may call from 12:00 – 1:00 for viewing and visitation.  Burial will follow at Carey’s Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.

In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Delaware Hospice, 100 Patriots Way, Milford, DE  19963.
