Esther Vanessa (Cannon) Jackson

July 15, 1956 ~ July 2, 2019 (age 62)

 

Mrs. Esther V. Jackson of Georgetown, DE passed away on Tuesday, July 2, 2019 at the Delaware Hospice Center.  She was 62 years old.

 

Esther was born in Lewes, DE on July 15, 1956 to the late Prince E. Cannon and Marian Cannon who survives her.  In addition to her father, she is also preceded in death by her brother Timothy B. Cannon.

 

 

She was employed by Breaker’s Hotel as a Housekeeping Supervisor for many years.   Esther enjoyed working, watching TV and spending time with her family.   She had a great personality, funny, to the point and ornery at times.  She was loved, and will be missed by all who knew her.

 

 In addition to her mother, she is survived by two daughters, Ericka Collins (William O. Collins Jr.) of Georgetown, DE and Dayna Taylor (Chad) of Millsboro, DE;  8 siblings: Princess E. Speaks (Nathaniel) of Frankford, DE, Elder James T. Cannon (Patsy) of Chesapeake, VA, Elder Edward A. Cannon (Jocelyn)  of Millsboro, DE, Ronald L. Cannon (Judith) of Lewes, DE, Charlotte R. Jackson of Millsboro, DE, Dorthea A. Johnson (Eldridge) of Millsboro, DE, Patricia L. Rogers (Wayne) of Milford, DE and Christopher O. Cannon of Millsboro, DE.  She also leaves behind 5 grandchildren, Cameron B. Jackson, Raelynn T. Jackson, Adin N. Collins, Dawsen T. Taylor and Lundyn N. Taylor as well as 3 great grandchildren, Laila Nhan, Kolton R. Ernst and Zoey Jackson. Esther is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends as well as her grand-dog “Obi” whom she adored.

 

 

A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 8, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE  19966, where friends may call from 12 noon – 1:00 PM for viewing and visitation.  Burial will follow at Old Field Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
