Francis “Frank” Xavier Subach, 75, of Millsboro passed away at home on December 29, 2018. He was born on March 11, 1943 in Shenandoah, PA to Eva Kravitz and Frank Jerome Subach.
Frank was raised in Newark, DE and attended Newark High School. He was a Captain on the football team and honored to play in the Blue Gold Game. Frank attended Wesley College and graduated from the University of Delaware.
He married Sally Stayton and raised three children; Lauren, Peter and Michael in Newark, DE. In 1990, Frank married the love of his life, Joanne Chmielewski. They relocated to Millsboro where he resided until his passing.
He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. He treasured his grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Frank enjoyed a lifelong career with Crown Zellerbach/Gaylord Container in Regional Sales. He also enjoyed playing golf, laughing with family and friends and watching sports. He was an avid sports fan. Frank was well known for making all of us laugh.
In addition to his parents, Frank and Eva Subach, Frank was preceded in death by one brother, John Subach.
Survivors saddened by his sudden unexpected death include his wife of 28 years, Joanne Subach; one daughter, Lauren Allgood (Charles); two sons, Peter Subach (Christine) and Michael Subach; one sister, Barbara A. Stimmel (David); two brothers-in-law, Paul and John Chmielewski; four grandchildren, Samual Allgood, Thomas C. Allgood, Meghan M. Subach and Collin P. Subach. He also leaves many beloved nieces, nephews, old friends and customers.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE. Visitation with family is welcome from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m.
