Obituary of Gerald William Fryer, Jr.
Gerald William Fryer, Jr. of Millsboro, DE and formerly of Pottstown, PA passed away at home on July 6, 2019. He was 80 years old. Gerald was born on February 17, 1939 to the late Gerald W., Sr. and Marian LaRue Klink Fryer in Pottstown. He was an only child. He married Sandra Lee Hoffman on July 22, 1961 and together they raised three daughters. He spent a career with Philadelphia Electric, which later became Exelon Energy as a Substation Mechanic, Draftsman. He formerly was active in the B.P.O.E. Elks Lodge. More than anything, he was a family man, loved his family with his whole heart – they were EVERYTHING to him. He was witty and came up with cute sayings or funny phrases. Gerald enjoyed fishing and hunting, and was a very private person. He served on the Board of Directors of the Indian River Senior Center.
Gerald is survived by Sandra, his wife of almost 58 years and three children: Deborah Frederick (Randall) of Pottstown, PA; Cheryl Wambold (Robert), of Reading, PA; and Beth Vitacco (Joseph) of Millsboro, DE. There are seven grandchildren: Aaron; Tyler; Michael; Spencer; Elliot; Christopher; and Andrew. Also surviving, three great-grandchildren: Adin; Haylie; and Dean and numerous cousins, extended family, and many friends.
