Arlene S. Ware Terry

1935 - 2021

On March 16, 2021 Arlene Staubs (Ware) Terry passed peacefully at her home in Millsboro.  Born in Charles Town, WV, she was a resident of Millsboro since 1962.

Arlene was a great friend to many in the community, and a participant in community support organization (including The Christian Storehouse, Cub and Boy Scouts, Sussex Central Band). To those who knew her, it was easy to see her true Christian faith and love for her sons, daughters-in-law, grand-children, great grand-children, parents, and brothers and sisters.

She is preceded in death by her parents (Reginald and Catherine Staubs), her son (James Ware), and several brothers and sisters (Clarice, Marlin, Dan and Ruth).

She is survived by her: Brother, Frank (Sue) Staubs, and sister, Brenda Pierson of Charles Town and Martinsburg, WV.  Husband, Peter Terry of Millsboro.  Sons, Les (Debbie Layfield) Ware of Hampton, VA, and Keith (Karen Hudson) Ware of Dagsboro.  Stepdaughter, Cathy (Jay) Droogan of Darien, CT.  Grandchildren: Jennifer (Ware) and Shaun Dyer of Nottingham, UK; Andrew and Elizabeth (Lewis) Ware of Fairfax, VA; Stephanie (Ware) and Ryan Tingle of Cheyanne, WY; Nicolas and Caitlin (Molnar) Ware of Dagsboro; Jack Droogan of San Francisco, CA; and, Cate and Sara of Darien, CT.  Great-grandchildren, Lennon and Charlie Mae Ware, and Finley Dyer.

The family plans a small private ceremony in April.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to Alzheimer and hospice organizations.

Most importantly, she was a devoted Christian and wonderful mother, grand-mother, and great grand-mother.

Through our friends, Les and Debbie Ware, I had the honor of meeting Arlene at an event a few years ago. Although we only had a brief discussion, I could tell how much she adored her family. She had the biggest smile as she talked about Les. My heartfelt condolences to our friends and their family. May she rest in the Lord's arms with comfort and grace.
