ADRIAN E MEAD's Obituary
Adrian E. Mead, 92, of Millsboro died on August 22, 2015 at home. He was born in Federalsburg, MD to the late Henry A. and Ellen Bryant Mead. Adrian served during WW2 in Europe as a chaplain's assistant, with the 9th US Army Air Force, 30th service group which provided tactical air support for General Patton. He attended Goldie Beacom College and the University of PA, studying accounting and finance. He retired from the J.A. Montgomery, Inc. Insurance Agency of Wilmington, DE as Vice President, managing the Seaford, DE Office. He played golf, enjoyed running and participated in many local races. He was a Phillies and Eagles fan. He was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, had been very active in the Seaford Kiwanis Club, and was a member of the American Legion. He looked forward to the annual army reunions.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded by his first wife: Ellen Mead; and a sister: Lois Hudson; and a brother: Alfred (Buddy) Mead, and a son: Ronald Meade
Adrian is survived by his wife: Alice M. Mead; and a son: Robert Meade, and his wife Kay, of Milford, DE; a stepson: Joseph B. Cloud, of Smyrna, DE; and a daughter-in-law: Nancy Meade, of Newark, DE; and a sister-in-law: Rose Mead, of Federalsburg, MD. His grandchildren are: Shannon Meade; Jonathan Meade; Amanda Meade and Andrew Meade. Other relatives include cousins: Bryant Richardson; Drew Richardson; and June Truitt; a nephew: Ed Stoffle and nieces: Denise Nagel and Catherine Seippel.
A funeral service and Celebration of His Life will be held at the Grace United Methodist Church on Wednesday, August 26, 2015 at 10: 30 AM, friends may call from 9:30 till 10:30 for viewing and visitation. Pastor Ed Kuhling will officiate, and interment will follow at the Delaware Veteran's Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro with military honors.
