Obituary of Mrs. Aileen Timmons
Aileen Timmons, 90, of Millsboro, DE passed away in the care of her family on July 25, 2016 at her home. She was born on October 25, 1925 in Milton, DE to the late Arthur B. and Amy Ellingsworth Donovan. She was married to Atwood Timmons, who preceded her in 2015. She is also preceded by a grandson, Zachary Carey. She lived a very abundant life, and was retired as a cafeteria manager for the Indian River School District. After retirement, she was very active in support of the VFW District 4 Honor Guard, and was a member of VFW Post 7442 Auxiliary. She raced go-karts, loved horse racing and was a very lovely person who was outgoing and friendly to all. She especially loved the kids at school.
Aileen is survived by her two children: Atwood R. Timmons, III, of Millsboro; and Victoria Carey, and her husband Fred, also of Millsboro. She also is survived by two sisters: Ima Jean Spencer, of Milton and Ester Reynolds, of Milton; one grandchild: Erin; and three great-grandchildren: Noah; Bella; and Ayden. There are numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family and many, many friends.
A viewing and visitation will be held from Noon till 1:00 PM at the Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro on Wednesday, August 3, 2016 with a funeral service at 1:00 PM.
Pastor Tim Wilson, of the Milton Wesleyan Church will officiate. Interment follows at the Millsboro Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcomed, or contributions in her memory to the Delaware Hospice; 100 Patriot Way; Milford, DE 19963.
