Obituary of Mr. Alan Douglas Herre
Mr. Alan Douglas Herre of Milton, DE and formerly of Parsippany, NJ passed away on Thursday, March 18, 2021. He was 74 years old.
Al was born on October 3, 1946 in Newark, NJ to the late Ewald and Elizabeth Holschuh Herre. He was a U.S. Marine Corp. Veteran and was retired from Verizon where he worked as a cable splicer. Al enjoyed fishing, bowling, and horseshoes. He was a quiet and laid-back kind of man who did not want a big fuss made over him. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend who will be dearly missed.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Florence Herre of Milton, DE; three children Matthew Herre of Middletown, DE; Andrew (Suzanne) Herre of Morris Plains, NJ; and Douglas Herre of Bellevue, WA; a brother Eugene (Amy) Herre of Springfield, NJ, and two sisters Donna (Bob) Webb and Monica Snelgrove of Millsboro, DE. He also leaves behind three grandchildren AJ, Jenna and Kara as well as many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
A private service will be held at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
