Allan Wallace Ottley, III's Obituary
Allan Wallace Ottley, III, known by many as “Butch,” went to be with the Lord, September 18, 2024, at his home in Laurel, Delaware. He was born on July 13, 1950, in Chincoteague, Virginia, to Allan Wallace Ottley, II and Geraldine (Sherman) Ottley. He attended Dover High School in Dover Plains, New York and worked several years for the State of New York before beginning his career as a chef. He attended classes at The Culinary Institute of New York in Hyde Park. Allan worked at Four Brothers in Amenia, New York for many years before moving to Georgetown, Delaware with his family in 1991, where he managed the Pizza Palace in Millsboro, Laurel & Delmar, Delaware until 2008, when he retired.
Allan is survived by his wife, Vanessa (Limoges) Ottley, and his children, Martin Ottley (Uniontown, PA), Anna (Aaron) Phillips (Brighton, CO), Carolyn (Fred) Mahakian (Windsor, CO), Allan W. Ottley IV (Tupper Lake, NY), Joel Ottley (Tupper Lake, NY), Julie Ottley (Laurel, DE), Bridget (Casey) Cramer (Laurel, DE), and Peter Ottley (Laurel, DE). He also leaves behind his grandchildren: Aaron “Andy” and Alison Phillips, Cass and Aster Mahakian, Aryanna Ottley, Joel, Shawn, Alexis, Hope, Wyatt and Toby Ottley. He also leaves a brother, Michael Ottley, and many nieces and nephews. Allan was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Peggy.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, September 27, 2024, at 11:00 AM at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 South Washington Street, Millsboro, DE, with a viewing from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the start of the service. Interment will be private.
