Alma Rhoads "Bunny"'s Obituary
It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Alma Rhoads, lovingly known to family and friends as "Bunny," who passed away on July 5, 2026, in Delaware at the age of 82.
Born on April 9, 1944 in Doylestown, Pennsylvania, Bunny lived a life defined by hard work, determination, and compassion. She believed in earning everything she had through dedication and perseverance, and she took great pride in building the life she created. No matter how busy she was, Bunny never hesitated to help a friend in need, offering her time, strength, and generosity whenever someone needed a helping hand.
Animals were the love of her life. Bunny often said she loved animals more than people, and anyone who knew her understood the depth of her compassion. In her younger years, she proudly bred magnificent Arabian horses and gentle Saint Bernards, dedicating herself to their care with patience and devotion. Her lifelong love for animals was one of the defining parts of who she was.
Bunny is survived by her beloved sons Charles McKeown, and his wife, Jessica; Patrick McKeown; and her cherished grandsons, Jake and Justin McKeown. They will forever remember her fierce independence, strong work ethic, generous heart, and unconditional love.
Although Bunny has left this world, the lessons she taught through her resilience, kindness, and unwavering determination will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her memory will forever be treasured by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
A private family service will be held to celebrate Bunny's life. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial donations be made to a local animal rescue or shelter in her honor, a fitting tribute to her lifelong love and dedication to animals.
Forever loved, forever remembered, and forever missed.
