Andrea V. Jones' Obituary
Andrea V. Jones, affectionately known as “Onnie” or “Dre”, of Millsboro, DE passed away on Saturday, November 18, 2023. She was 53 years old.
Ms. Jones was born in Seaford, DE on March 20, 1970, to the late Shirley Jones – Stevenson and Henry Bailey who survives her. Along with her mother, she is preceded in death by her close friend Samuel L. Dennis and her Maternal grandparents Johnny and Retha Jones.
She was a graduate of Sussex Central High School Class of 1989. Ms. Jones had a lifelong career as a hairstylist. She was a member of Emanuels House Church in Millsboro, DE. Watching Family Feud and westerns, walking, cooking, and telling stories were some of her favorite pastimes. Most importantly was spending time with her family, especially her granddaughter “Apple” who was the apple of her eye.
In addition to her father, she is survived by two daughters Roneka V. Jones of Longview, TX and Nia V. Jones of Millsboro, DE; five siblings: Shirlene Jones of Felton, DE, Randy Jones (Lorrie) of Milford, DE, Cynthia Jones of Millsboro, DE, Alison Taylor of Millsboro, DE and Timothy Jones of Millsboro, DE.
She was blessed with one granddaughter Nieka” Apple” Jones as well as nieces and nephews: Jerome Smith, Timothy Jones, Jr., Jasmine Jackson. She is also survived by her god parents Ben and Beverly Singletary, as well as additional nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles and dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, at St. John 2nd Baptist Church,26602 Mt. Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966, where the viewing will be from 10:00 AM– 12:00 PM. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
