Anna E Beckett's Obituary
Anna Elenor Andrews Beckett, 92 of Frankford, DE went home to be with the Lord on January 17, 2017 at Delmar Nursing Home in Delmar, Delaware.
Anna was born on February 28, 1924 in Philadelphia, PA. To the late Clarence Kendell Andrews and Elizabeth Sara Williams Andrews.
Anna graduated from Philadelphia public school and held various jobs. She retired from Selbyville sewing factory in Selbyville, Delaware. She was a lifelong member of Antioch A.M.E Church where she served on the steward board and sang with the #2 choir.
Anna is preceded in death by her husband William H Beckett, Sr. of 71 years, three sons, William H Beckett, Jr, Clarence E. Beckett, Sr., Jerome Beckett, Daughter Linda S. Beckett and her siblings, James Andrews, Barbra Colbert, and Hazel Graves.
She is survived by a sister Roberta Snead of San Antonio, Texas, a sister-in-law, Mildred Beckett of Millsboro, Delaware, a brother-in-law, Harry (Kathleen) Houston of Millsboro, Delaware, three daughters- in- law, Lucy Beckett of Frankford, Delaware, Estheleta D.Allen Beckett of Millsboro, Delaware, Dorothy Beckett of Wilmington, Delaware. Five grandchildren, Stanley Beckett,Sr. of Frankford, Delaware, Pamela Beckett Barrett (Daniel) of Millsboro, Delaware, Clarence Beckett, Jr. of Salisbury, Maryland, Andre Beckett of Millsboro, Delaware, Corey (Christina) Wingo of Camden, Delaware and one step granddaughter, Zelda (Ivan) Vasail of Atlanta, Georgia. Twenty great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, in-laws, and friends.
A funeral service and celebration of her life will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at the Antioch AME Church in Frankford, DE, where friends may call for a time of visitation and viewing from 10AM - 12 PM. Burial will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
