Anthony Wayne Mitchem's Obituary
Anthony Wayne Mitchem, born on January 14, 1961, in Prince George's County, MD, passed away on July 7, 2024, in Wilmington, DE. He was the beloved son of Larry Wayne Mitchem and the late Lucille Marie (Belcher) Mitchem.
Anthony dedicated his career to working as a welder, a profession he took great pride in. Outside of work, he found joy in cheering for his favorite football team, the Pittsburgh Steelers, and in watching NASCAR, where he rooted passionately for his favorite racer, Brad Keselowski. Known for his sense of humor and his ability to see the good in people and situations, Anthony brought laughter and positivity to those around him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Lucille Mitchem, his sister, Sheila, and his brother, Ronnie. Anthony is survived by his father, Larry Mitchem, his two children: Christopher Anthony Mitchem and Jennifer Lynn Mitchem; and his three cherished grandchildren: Alexis Houseman, Joylin Rathbone, and Aria Mitchem. He also leaves behind his four nieces: Crystal, Jessica, Leah, and Aubree Jane; and three nephews: Jason, Spencer, and Cohen.
A funeral service to honor Anthony's life will be held on Friday, July 12, 2024, at 3 PM at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, DE. Visitation will be from 2-3 PM prior to the start of the service.
Anthony Wayne Mitchem will be remembered for his warmth, kindness, and the joy he brought to all who knew him. He will be deeply missed.
