Arnold Wilson Hearn's Obituary
Arnold Wilson Hearn was born on March 30, 1942, in Laurel, Delaware to Howard Brooks and Mabel Florence Hearn. He graduated from Laurel Senior High School. Arnold was a skilled carpenter, leaving behind a legacy of craftsmanship and dedication to his trade. His passion for carpentry was matched only by his love for the simple joys of life. He enjoyed fishing, spending serene days by the water, casting lines and sharing stories with his grandsons, walking fields looking for arrowheads, and exploring the woods while hunting for bottles. He was also a proud member of the Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Charity Lodge #27 of Laurel, where he found camaraderie and community. One of Arnold's fondest pastimes was volunteering at the Lodge’s Cemetery House in Laurel, where he delighted in the thrill of the scare and the excitement of the eerie.
Arnold passed away peacefully at home on March 22, 2024, in Laurel, Delaware, surrounded by the love of his family. Arnold was preceded in death by his parents and his brothers Brooks, Wayne, and Allen Hearn.
Arnold leaves behind a legacy of love and memories cherished by his devoted wife of 46 years, Barbara Ann Hearn. He is survived by his daughter, Elizabeth Bishop, and her husband, Carlos Bishop, grandsons Logan Hearn (Kelsey) and Nathan Bishop (Megan DeGrotto); grand dogs Apollo, Oliver, Murphy, and Duke; his dear sister, Juanita Cahall (Floyd); his nephew, Ralph Lewis; and several nephews and nieces. Their memories of Arnold will forever be treasured.
In Lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Arnold's memory to Independent Order of Odd Fellows, Charity Lodge #27, PO-Box 146, Laurel, DE 19956
