ARTHUR M. ACHILLES's Obituary
Mr. Arthur Morgan Achilles, age 70, of Bethany Beach, DE passed away on Monday, May 16, 2016.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Leroy M. and Hilda Workman Achilles, and his longtime companion, Patti Shaffer who passed in March of 2012.
He was a US Army Vietnam Veteran. Art's favorite hobby was golfing. He was widely known and beloved by everyone with his ready smile and unforgettable personality. He was a former Bethany Beach Life Guard in his younger years and he was a New York Yankees fan. Art had an interesting reputation for his "feelings" about traffic lights, DelDot and congested beach traffic.
He is survived by two brothers, Brad Achilles of Douglasville, GA, Clark Achilles and his wife Carol of Westminster, MD, one sister, Dawn Achilles-Smith and her husband Charlie of Bethany Beach, DE and a niece, Hanna Achilles of Bethesda, MD.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Art's memory to Leukemia Society of Delaware, 203 Bohemia Mill Pond Drive, Middletown, DE 19709 or Home of the Brave, 6632 Sharps Rd, Milford, DE 19963.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
