ARTHUR H JONES, SR's Obituary
Arthur H. Jones, Sr., better known as ""Butch"" or ""Pop"", of Ocean View and formerly of both Tennessee and the Laurel, DE area passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013. He was 76 years old. Born on January 31, 1937 in Ellsworth, Maine, he was the son of the late Alton F. and Effie Havey Jones. He was a veteran of the Korean War era having served in the US Air Force. While in the Air Force, he met his ""bride to be"" Janet Reed, and they were married in 1955 in Denton, Maryland and raised a family. He was a highly skilled electrician with Local 24 and the Y12 D.O.E. Unit at Martin Marietta in Tennessee. His work was with extreme precision and required the highest Security Clearance from the Government. After retirement, he and Janet moved back to Delaware in 1997. He loved bowling and golfing. Everyone knew him around Bethany and Sea Colony, and called him ""Pop."" He loved his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and they loved him. He never met a stranger. He also loved NASCAR and was a Jeff Gordon fan, and wouldn't miss the Sunday races. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Janet L. Jones, of Ocean View and two sons: Arthur H. Jones, Jr. and his wife Lisa, of Salisbury, MD; and Alton T. Jones, and his significant other, Kirstie Dubois, of Ocean View, DE. He is also survived by his siblings: Morrill Jones, of Sullivan, Maine; Roger Jones, and his wife Loretta, of Feeding Hills, Massachusetts; and Rena Anderson, and her husband, Phil, of Veazie, Maine. ""Pop"" leaves behind his four beloved grandchildren; and seven beloved great-grandchildren. A viewing and visitation will be held from 6:00 till 8:00 PM on Thursday evening, July 25, 2013 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St.; Millsboro, DE 19966. Interment will be at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Friday, July 26, 2013 at 1:00 PM with conferring of Military Honors.
