Barbara Ellen Venables' Obituary
Barbara Ellen Venables, 83, passed away at her home on Sunday, November 16, 2025. Barbara was born on May, 8, 1942, in Campbell, MD. She was the daughter of the late George Venables and Elsie Venables.
A lifelong NASCAR enthusiast and a die-hard New York Giants fan, Barbara brought passion and energy to everything she loved. At just 16, she began her working career with Townsend Inc. as a vaccinator. Her dedication and strong work ethic carried her through many years of service, culminating in her retirement from Mountaire as a hatchery employee in 2004.
Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, George Venables (1988) and Elsie Venables (2014), as well as her sister Joan Kasowski (2014). She is survived by her two sons, Rick A. Venables of Dagsboro, DE, and Terry L. Venables, Sr., of Millsboro, DE; her granddaughter, Mindy Venables of Millsboro, DE; and her grandson, Terry Venables, Jr., also of Millsboro, DE. She is also survived by her brothers, George A. Venables and sister-in-law Grace J. Venables of Laurel, DE, and Richard Venables, Sr. of Dagsboro, DE. Barbara also leaves behind five loving nieces and nephews: David, Susan, Richard Jr., Scott, and Donald—along with ten great-nieces and great-nephews and nine great-great–nieces and nephews. She also cherished many cousins with whom she grew up and remained close throughout her life.
Barbara was deeply devoted to her children and family, loving them fiercely and unconditionally. She was well loved by all who knew her and will be dearly missed.
A Celebration of Life will be announced by the family at a later date.
