What a sweet lady .rest in piece ms bea and u ned keep smiling together your together again.

I remember Mrs. Carey from my childhood in Millsboro in the 1940s and '50s. My mother (Rhoda G.) patronized the Corner Door and always had good things to say about both Bea and Ned. My mother bought my first set of oil paints from Bea, launching a lifelong love for art. I still have the the little wooden case the paints came in. Bea's life was one well lived and I know she will be sorely missed by family and all who knew her. Most sincere condolences.

I was just thinking of Miss Bea the other day, wondering how she was cause I hadn't seen her name listed in the Obituaries. I knew she was up in ages but no listing is always better. Then today, I opened the Gazette Newspaper.....there she was in her finest earrings, natural wavy hair, a beautiful red sweater and that unique smile. Every time I had a chance to venture into the family store, I just fell in love with her over and over again. Most people went to the store for Mr.Ed's help.....not me. I went to chat with Miss Bea. She always seemed to enjoy my chatting and I always enjoyed the fact that she took an interest in me. After marrying and moving away from Millsboro, I rarely saw her except when I went home for a visit. I went to school with their boys, Ed was older but Fred was my age....we graduated together. I had a crush on him for a few years but he didn't pay me any mind so by 10th grade, I gave up on him. I have loads of memories from Millsboro of people that touched my heart.....and Miss Bea was one of those special people. Hugs to you all and sending prayers to Ed and Fred.

Mr. and Mrs. Carey were like a second set of grandparents to me while growing up in the 80's, I practically lived at the Millsboro Library, where they visited quite often as well. My family's thoughts are with yours, I will always have fond memories for one of the nicest couples I have ever met.

What a lady! Thank you all of your kindness. I so enjoyed my conversations with with you and learning so much.

Mrs. Carey was not only the Christian spirited matriarch of her immediate family, but from our perspective she held that distinction for the town of Millsboro. Gracious, loving, and giving are the words that come to our minds in remembering Mrs. Carey. Please know that a dogwood tree still grows from a cutting she gave each of her preschool Sunday school class students about 45 years ago. We know she rests in the arms of our eternal Saviour and with her beloved Ned. May the entire Carey family find strength in her resiliency and joy of life.
