Bernadette ("Bernie") Hopkins Allsop
Bernadette Hopkins Allsop, 72, of Lewes, DE passed away on Wednesday, September 18, 2019, in the extraordinary care of Seasons Hospice and her loving family. She was born on January 3, 1947 to the late Mary and Horace Hopkins. Bernie married Robert G. Allsop on January 6, 1968, in Wilmington, DE. Together they raised two children, Robert Allsop, Jr., and Kimberly (Allsop) Dischler, and thoroughly enjoyed having 3 grandchildren, Dylan Kane, Brooke Kane and Heather Allsop and 2 step-grandchildren, Chelsey Dischler and Cyle Dischler . She initially spent her married life in Philadelphia, PA, before moving back to Delaware with her family. She was predeceased by Bob, the love of her life and husband of 47 years.
She also leaves behind her son-in-law (Steve Dischler), her daughter-in-law (Maggie Allsop),her siblings Helen Dean, Betty Lou (and John) Burgess, Dru (and Eddie) Abrams, James (and Joanne) Dryden, Sonny Hopkins, and her grandchildren, nieces and nephew.
She will be deeply missed by her son, daughter and grandchildren, all of whom she adored. She also had close relationships with her sisters, brothers, brother-in-laws, sister-in-laws, and her nieces and nephews. She was particularly joined at the hip with her sisters Helen, Betty Lou and Dru.
Bernie enjoyed reading, animals, the Eagles, and the news! Her cat Sasha, was cherished by her and her late husband Bob. She will be remembered the most for her love of family, her advice, and her straightforward and funny personality.

A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 PM on Saturday, September 28, 2019 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM for visitation. Interment will be private at the Delaware Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Season's Hospice and Palliative Care, 4755 Ogletown Stanton Road, Newark, DE 19718.
