Betty Jane Forbes was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at home in Georgetown, DE at the age of 63. Her viewing will be from 6pm-8pm On Thursday September 11th and 9am-11am on September 12th with celebration of life to follow at 11:00 a.m. at Watson Funeral Home, Millsboro, DE. Greene Str., Baltimore, MD 21201 Betty Jane Forbes, affectionately called by her loved ones ""Betty Boop"" was peacefully called home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, September 3, 2014, at home in Georgetown, DE at the age of 63. Betty Forbes was born in Whaleyville, MD on October 5, 1950, to the late parents of Monroe and Sarah Jones. Her early education started at Phillips C. Showell Elementary School, Selbyville, DE up to the 6th grade; 7th through 11th grade at Jason High School, Georgetown, DE and senior year at Selbyville High School with honors. Betty continued her education at Delaware Technical and Community College in Georgetown, DE. Betty was employed at NCR (National Cash Register) in 1969, following their closing she was employed with First Omni Bank in Millsboro, DE until 1998. Betty started working at at the Stockley Center in Georgetown, DE in early 2000 until October 2007. Betty was a faithful member of Stein Highway Church of God since 1990. She was a member of the Choir, praise and worship team, a children's ministry teacher, and secretary of the women's ministry. She served as the coordinator for her church trips, as well was a member of AARP Georgetown Chapter 5430. She enjoyed going to gospel concerts, traveling to visit love ones and planning her family reunions. One of her great love with her mother, Sarah Jones was sightseeing. The Holland women loved seeing how the towns progressed in Sussex County over the years. As time passed, they told story after story about different events that occurred throughout their lifetime. She is survived by her children Whitley DeWesley Forbes II of Georgetown, DE and Melissa DeWesley Forbes of Harrington, DE. Three brothers and two sisters, William Holland of Berlin, MD, Vernon (Lynda) Holland of Dagsboro, DE, Regina (Charles) McCloud of Houston, TX, Linda (Jeron) Duffy of Rehoboth, DE and Carl (Jean) Holland of Columbus, GA. Three aunts, Gladys Mitchell of Selbyville, DE, Audrea Smith of College Park, MD, Katherine Holland of Whaleyville, MD, and one uncle, Leonard Smith of College Park, MD. Lifetime Sisters are Dorothy Mason, Roberta Mann, Jerry Bailey, Geraldine Green and Donora Elzey. With a host of nieces, nephews and cousins. Special thanks to Rhonda Dobson, Generations Health Care, Georgetown, DE, Doctor Sarkar, Baltimore, MD, Doctor Athar, Nanticoke Hospital, Seaford, DE, and Doctor Q for their exemplary medical care.
