Obituary of Betty Bernice (Jackson) Hall
Mrs. Betty Bernice Hall of Millsboro, DE passed away on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at the Cadia Healthcare Renaissance Nursing Home. She was 87 years old.
Betty was born on January 4, 1932 in Millsboro, DE to the late Samuel and Agnes Wright Jackson. She married Everett L. Hall, Sr. on April 1, 1952. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Everett Lee Hall, Sr., in 1974 as well as six brothers, Stanley Thompson (Bridgeton, NJ), William Jackson, Robert Jackson, George Jackson, Bruce Jackson, and Samuel Benson Jackson.
She was a member of Harmony United Methodist Church and worked in the dining hall for many years helping to prepare the chicken and dumpling dinners. Betty loved to clean and kept an immaculate home. She loved country music, watching TV especially "Everybody Loves Raymond" and talking on the phone with her best friend, Doreen Jackson. Betty was a strong, independent, self-sufficient, tough woman and a fighter during her prolonged illness.
Betty is survived by three children, Glendon L. Hall and his wife, Bonnie of Millsboro, DE; Marabella Hitchens of Millsboro, DE and Everett L. Hall, Jr. and his wife, Haven of Del Air, NJ. She also leaves behind five grandchildren Brian Hall, Leia Nichols, William Hitchens, Jr., Asa Hall and Ava Green, five great-grandchildren, Alexa Hitchens, Emoni Hitchens, Cyrus Hall, Owen Nichols and Wyatt Nichols along with one great-great grandchild, Jordyn Hitchens. Also, she is survived by a sister, Blenda Wright and two uncles, Clarence Warren and Layman Jackson.
A funeral service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11 a.m. to 12 Noon for viewing and visitation. Burial will follow at Harmony Cemetery. Rev. C. Claudia Waters will officiate.
