A tribute to our Aunt Betty Ann Morris Satchell, affectionately known to us Aunt Bet.Words cannot express the sadness and hurt we felt when we heard that you were beginning your transition to Glory last Friday. Making that hurt even more intense was the fact that we could not get to you to say goodbye then, and could not even have a proper homegoing service for you.I remember the last Sunday afternoon you spent with us in Berlin. What a time we had laughing and fellowshipping over dinner. Even though I now know that you were not feeling 100%, you were still "Aunt Bet!" Going to tell like it was, or at least how you saw it!! (Eye candy and all!) Not quite like Annie, but we knew where it was coming from! Although each of the Brother's and Sister's are different in many ways, you all were the same in many ways! The love for family was always shown, as well as the excitement in our triumphs and support in our defeats from as far back as I can remember. When my family was facing sickness and uncertainty your prayers, words of comfort and encouragement were always welcomed appreciated. I would selfishly like to think you only did that for me...but I know that just isn't the case because you had a big heart with room for us all. When you shared your love you made us all feel special and that strengthened our family bonds. The loss of your smile, hugs, encouraging words will be greatly missed but the love shared will always be with us!Being raised to know our Lord and Savior, we know that HE makes no mistakes and HIS will shall be done. God saw your burden was getting heavy and the struggle with your health becoming greater. So in the quiet of the night he called you home...Although our hearts are heavy, we can still rejoice knowing you are in heaven, smiling down on us with the rest of the family who have gone on before! Casting off all illness and cares so you are able to enjoy your reward. "In Jesus's name!" you would always say...no matter what was going on. You ran the race and fought the good fight, so we know you were ready to hear him say "Well done..."As I mentioned before, the the thought of not being able to have a proper service for you was upsetting. But in the midst of it all, a song kept coming into my mind: "I Shall Wear a Crown!" So I am dedicating this song to you Aunt Bet to celebrate your life's journey. I truly believe this rendition speaks for you, and about your journey...but it also gave me peace and hope it will do the same for the rest of the family as they listen and meditate on the lyrics. Rest on Aunt Bet! Until we get to see you again "In Jesus's Name!"I Shall Wear A Crown - by Min. Udi Eno & The Ensemble (MUST SEE) - YouTube
