Bonnie Louise Blake's Obituary
Bonnie Louise Blake, 69, of Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully at home on December 4, 2025, surrounded by her loving family, after a short but courageous battle with cancer. She faced her illness with remarkable strength and a fighting spirit that never wavered. She was born on July 19, 1956, in Washington, DC, daughter of the late George Sr. and Kathleen Philpott.
Bonnie dedicated 28 years to her career in sales at Nuttle Lumber in Rehoboth Beach, DE, where she was known for her strong work ethic, warm personality, and her ability to brighten the day of anyone she encountered.
Outside of work, Bonnie found joy in life’s simple pleasures—gardening, cooking, and shopping, whether online or in person. She embraced each day with a quiet strength and an unwavering spirit that inspired everyone around her. Above all, Bonnie cherished her family. Her greatest joy in life was being “Grammy.” Her happiest moments were spent cheering on her grandchildren at their sporting events and showering them with endless love. She especially treasured time with her family in her sunroom—her favorite place to sit, talk, laugh, and enjoy the people she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Owen Bernard Horten III; and her brother, George Philpott Jr.
Bonnie is survived by her devoted husband, Keith Blake; her children, Kimberly Anne Horten (Michael Michelsen) and Carrie Lynn Phillips (Brooks); her stepdaughter, Kayla Syphard (Robert); and her cherished grandchildren, Raven Horten, Nathan Harper, Kaleb Horten, Caden Phillips, Blake Phillips, and Anna Syphard. She is also survived by her sister, Patricia Saia (Pete).
Bonnie will be remembered for her kindness, resilience, and the deep love she had for her family. Her legacy lives on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her.
A Memorial Service will be held at 11:00AM on Wednesday, January 7, 2026, at Watson Funeral Home & Crematorium, 211 South Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966, with a visitation at 10:00AM prior to the start of the service.
