Bruce Edward Bertrand's Obituary
Obituary for Bruce Edward Bertrand
Bruce Edward Bertrand, of Long Neck, DE, peacefully passed away on December 5, 2025. Born in Albany, GA, Bruce grew up in Syracuse, NY, and later made his home in Havertown, PA, where he and his wife raised their family.
He was the beloved son of the late Edward and Norma Bertrand, and the devoted husband of 55 years to Cathy Bertrand. Bruce was a loving father to Lisa Kirschbaum (Dan) and Bruce J. Bertrand (Megan), and a proud grandfather to Tyler and Devin Kirschbaum and Cali and Austin Bertrand. He is also survived by his sister, Kathleen Bertrand, and her daughter Jennifer Castaldo.
Bruce dedicated many years of his career to E.I. DuPont, where he worked in the electrical engineering field and formed lasting friendships. He honorably served his country in the Air National Guard. Above all, Bruce loved his family. He enjoyed golfing, boating, crabbing, and spending time outdoors—places where he felt most at peace.
A Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, December 27, 2025, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 105 Wilson Avenue, Havertown, PA 19083, at 10:30 a.m., with a visitation from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Bruce’s name to the American Heart Association at https://www.heart.org/donate.
