Carol L. Absher's Obituary
Carol L. Absher, born on July 15, 1943, in Millsboro, DE, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family on June 5, 2024. She was the cherished daughter of the late Melvin G. and Mollie (Jefferson) Brittingham.
Carol dedicated over 25 years of her life to working at ILC, where she was involved in the production of government-regulated masks. Her extraordinary talents as a seamstress were well known, as she lovingly crafted clothing and scrubs for her family. Carol had a passion for the outdoors and particularly enjoyed cutting grass. She was an avid reader, a lover of country music, and a skilled cook. Above all, she treasured the time spent with her family and thrived in the joy of a bustling, noisy house.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband John Grady Garris, her second husband Levi Absher, her daughter Lola Absher, and her step-children Ralph Absher, Leroy Absher, Richard Absher, Barbara Warfle, and Dexter Absher.
Carol is survived by her beloved children: Connie Garris of Milford, DE; Linda Lape of Pennsylvania; Rebecca Mosley of Milford, DE; and Brenda Taggart of Florida. As well as her siblings Darlene Brittingham and Jesse Brittingham. She also leaves behind her stepchildren: Jay Absher, Susie Brittingham, Diane West, and Nancy Passwaters, along with numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, June 15, at 11:00 AM at Watson Funeral Home in Millsboro, DE, with a visitation from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM, just prior to the service. Interment will be held at Millsboro Cemetery immediately following the service.
