Carol Ann Watson October 2, 1945 – May 27, 2026
Carol Ann Watson, age 80, of Millsboro, Delaware, peacefully passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, to be reunited with her loved ones who preceded her in death.
Born on October 2, 1945, in Georgetown, Delaware, she was the beloved daughter of the late Martin Lewis and Flora Catherine Cooper Givens.
Carol, along with her late husband Richard T. Watson, Sr., purchased the James Funeral Home in Millsboro in 1969, where they founded Watson Funeral Home. For 37 years, they worked side by side, providing compassionate full-service funerals and cremation services to the community and surrounding areas. The couple retired in 2006. Richard preceded Carol in death in 2018.
In addition to her parents and husband, Carol was also preceded in death by her son Keith David Watson, her grandson William Matthew Watson, and her brother Allen Lee Givens.
Carol was a devoted mother and grandmother known for her kindness, generosity, and warm heart. She cherished her family deeply and loved spending time with them. Carol enjoyed shopping, hosting family dinners, watching TV, bird watching, and most importantly, being surrounded by family whom she adored.
She is survived by her son Richard T. Watson Jr. and his wife Tia and their son Paynter Webb Watson; and her devoted daughter Wendy Watson Breedlove, her husband Robert, and their children Alyssa Catherine Bradley, Brayden Andrew Bradley, Chloe Ann Bradley, and Cole Ryan Breedlove. She is also survived by nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Carol’s life was a testament to love, service, and family. She will be dearly missed and fondly remembered by all who knew her.
