Obituary Of Mrs. Carolyn Timmons
Mrs. Carolyn Timmons of Millsboro, DE passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022, at Atlantic Shores Rehab and Health Care Center in Millsboro, DE. She was 85 years old.
She was born on November 2, 1936, in Millsboro, DE to the late Will and Marie Ellingsworth Layton. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by three sisters: Margaret Revel, Jeanette Hall and Virginia Mitchell as well as three brothers Wallace Layton, Vernon Layton and Louis A. Layton.
Carolyn retired from the State of Delaware where she worked as the Stockley Center for approximately 30 years. She loved cats and enjoyed crochet, pottery, puzzle books, soap operas especially the Young and the Restless, westerns and she was especially fond of John Wayne movies. She loved to travel and she along with her husband Russell travelled across the United States for thirteen years in their RV visiting all but three states. Carolyn was a caring, compassionate, kind and amazing woman. She took pride in taking care of her home and family. She will be dearly missed.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years Russell Timmons of Millsboro, DE; one son Keith Timmons of Millsboro, DE and one grandson Ryan Timmons and his wife Jessica of Millsboro, DE along with extended family and friends.
A funeral will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, August 23, 2022, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 10:00 AM - 11:00 AM for viewing and visitation. Pastor William Timmons will officiate. Interment will follow at Carey's Cemetery in Millsboro, DE.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Carolyn's memory to Brandywine Valley SPCA, 22918 Dupont Blvd, Georgetown, DE 19947.
