Charles Alan Lehman's Obituary
Charles Alan Lehman, born on January 4, 1943, in Pittsburgh, PA, passed away on February 4, 2025, in Lewes, DE. He was the beloved son of the late Walter and Gladys (Goodman) Lehman.
Alan attended Valley Forge Military Academy where he proudly was appointed Captain and would be seen leading his group onto the parade field on a white horse carrying a flag. He attended and graduated from the University of Delaware and went on to serve in the army.
Much of his career was devoted to the restaurant industry, serving as the manager of the Horse and Buggy restaurant before becoming owner when it transitioned to the Sea Horse Restaurant, where he remained for 20 years. Following his time in the restaurant business, he ventured into entrepreneurship, opening and successfully operating Atlantic Cellular.
A devoted Pittsburgh Steelers fan, Alan found great joy in woodworking, solving puzzles, and cooking. He also had a passion for gambling at the craps table and was an avid horse racing enthusiast. He particularly cherished traveling to renowned races such as Keeneland, the Preakness, and the Kentucky Derby.
Alan was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his devoted wife, Doris Jean Lehman; his son, Chris (Ashley); his daughter, Alysia (Mark); his cherished grandchildren, Luke, Hank, Lindsay, Adelaide, and Abe; his step-son, Edgar Adkins (Brooke); and his step-sister, Carol Ann Burn (Tom).
Services will be private, honoring Alan’s wishes. His memory will forever be treasured by those who knew and loved him.
