Obituary of Mr. Charles William Maddox, Sr.
Mr. Charles William Maddox, Sr. of Millsboro, DE passed away on Friday, March 19, 2021 at Harbor Health Care in Lewes, DE. He was 76 Years old.
Charles was born in Princess Anne, MD on March 13, 1945 to the late James Isler and Mary Anne Nixon Maddox.
He was a retired poultry worker from Mountaire. Charles was a member of St. John 2nd Baptist Church in Millsboro, DE where he served as an Usher and in the Male Chorus until his health failed. He enjoyed fishing, cooking, eating and collecting salvaged items. Charles was known to be a loving and caring gentleman who was a "real people person".
Charles is survived by his wife Lizzie Maddox of Millsboro, DE, three sons, Johnny Maddox of Harrington, DE and Charles William Maddox, Jr. ( Dana) of Ocean City, MD, Perry Giddens of Millsboro, DE, and a daughter Tyrita Dorsey of Fruitland, MD. He is also survived by a very special aunt who helped raise him and was also a mother figure to him Cordelia Hopkins and an uncle Josiah Isler and wife Brenda. He also leaves behind eight grandchildren: Elisha Maddox, Landen Lawson, Devon Maddox, Aaron Mumford, Tykeya Dixon, Tyrique Dorsey, Darriah Matthews and Tyann Cotton as well one great granddaughter, Raelyn Truitt.
A funeral will be held at 12 Noon on Thursday, March 25, 2021 at St. John 2nd Baptist Chruch,26602 Mt. Joy Rd, Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM for viewing and visitation. Interment will follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
