Charlotte Jones' Obituary
Charlotte A Jones of Millsboro, DE, went to be with the Lord December 9th, 2015 after a long illness. She was 78 years old.
Charlotte was born on July, 10, 1937 to the late Andrew and Laura Chamberlain Hickman. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband Robert L Jones, Sr of Wilmington, DE. and her brother Charles Hickman.
Charlotte retired from a long career as an Registered Nurse from Delaware Hospital in Wilmington, DE, then Mid Sussex Health Center with Dr Darryl Sharman, where she worked for over 28 years. She graduated from John M Clayton High School, Class of 1955 and received her nursing degree from Delaware Hospital School of Nursing in 1958.
She was known for her compassionate care of her family, friends, and patients whom she always remembered by name. She was a devoted Daughter, Sister, Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend.
She is survived by her three children, Robert L Jones, Jr and his wife Kathy of Dagsboro, DE; Douglas E Jones and his wife Renee also of Dagsboro, DE; and Laura Jones White of Millsboro, DE; three sisters, Janice Merritt of Dagsboro, DE; Mary Daisey of Gumboro, DE; and Andrea Baird of Harbison, DE; and a sister in law Gail Hickman of Selbyville, DE. She has 8 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren.
She attended Zoar church, Millsboro, DE and Calvary Baptist Church, Georgetown, DE.
A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Monday, December 14, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where there will be a viewing from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Burial will follow in the Millsboro Cemetery.
