Charlotte Jane Wood
Age: 76
Charlotte Jane (Morris) Wood passed away on April 19, 2016 at Genesis Milford Center in Milford, Delaware after a long illness. Mrs. Wood was born to the late David W. and Eliza Jane Morris of Millsboro, Delaware on March 11, 1940. She married Burton "Burtie" C. Wood on February 4, 1961. She enjoyed being a homemaker and lived most of her life in Sussex County, Delaware. In 2014, she moved to Harrington, Delaware to live with her daughter, Diane Taylor. Mrs. Wood enjoyed gardening, especially growing flowers, reading, socializing and spending time with family and friends and reminiscing about the "good old" days. She was a loving mother and grandmother, a kind hearted and spirited individual, had a good sense of humor, and was hard-working and very strong-willed.
Along with her parents, Mrs. Wood was preceded in death by her husband, Burton "Burtie" C. Wood on March 30, 2009; brothers: Leon Morris, Walter (Tommy) Morris, Willis (Billy) Morris, Earl Morris, Harvey Morris, Harry Morris, Sterling Morris and Clarence Morris; sisters: Bessie (Wright) Clark, Phyllis Harmon-Megee and Aileen Morris.
Mrs. Wood is survived by her daughter, Diane M. Taylor of Harrington, DE; granddaughters, Amanda Naylor of Fredericksburg, VA, and Yvette Johnson of Herndon, VA; six great grandchildren, Dominque White, Christopher Charity, Mia Charity, Ebony Farmer, Tyrese Johnson, Paul Johnson; great-great granddaughter, Leilani Farmer and a brother, Edward S. Morris of Millsboro, Delaware and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends who loved her dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Funeral Services on Monday, April 25th, 7:00 p.m., at Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, Delaware preceded by a viewing from 5:00 p.m. - 7:00 p.m. Burial will be private.
