Cindy Jo Kirby's Obituary
Cindy Jo Chrisman Kirby, 64, of Media, Pa, passed away peacefully with her two daughters by her side in the early morning hours of April 9, 2020. Cindy's courageous three-year battle with cancer was finally over and her soul was now at peace.
Throughout her life, Cindy always had a love of dancing which began at the age of six taking dance lessons and continuing these lessons throughout her school years. Her love of dancing afforded the opportunity to use these talents as a baton twirler both while attending Phoenixville School District and at West Chester University as a member of the Incomparable Golden Rams Marching Band.
However, from a very young age taking care of others was where her love of life would eventually lead her to her career. Nursing was her passion, her drive and livelihood. After graduating from West Chester University she spent 36 years in the Labor and Delivery Department at Crozer Chester Medical Center, where she met some of her most steadfast friends and then became a Nurse Practitioner of Women's Health where she was employed by PPSP for 21 years. She continued to work throughout her battle with cancer and worked tirelessly up until the bitter end always putting her patients first.
Cindy was a loyal friend with a soft-spoken voice but had the capacity to fulfill so many hearts of those who she touched. She enjoyed trips to Cape May, spending time with her daughters who were her pride and joy as well as in her last year spoiling her only grandchild, Luka Kemmerlin.
Cindy is survived by her two daughters, Heather M. Kirby and Jillian E. (Prince) Kemmerlin, her beloved grandson, Luka Kemmerlin, her father, Paul A. Chrisman, her brother, Paul R. "Chris" (Mary) Chrisman; two nieces, Deborah A. Chrisman, and Jennifer M. (Jared) Schoenly; and a great niece and nephew, Katelyn E. and Evan C. Schoenly. Cindy was preceded in death by her mother, Dotty Chrisman and her grandparents.
Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date.
