Clara Emily Walters' Obituary
Clara Emily Walters, 93, of Frankford, DE passed away on Tuesday, June 6, 2023. She was born in Bayard, DE on August 14, 1929, to the late Harold S. and Martha L. Walters Hall. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by daughter Wanda Walters, grandson Justin Carey, granddaughter Victoria Cannon, and siblings Harold Hall, Ernest Hall, Sally Hall, Alfreda Morris, Ramona Hopkins.
Clara retired from the State of Delaware as a Pharmacy Technician at the Stockley Center. She was the Matriarch of the Union Wesley UMC at the time of her passing. She served in many capacities: Church Organist/Choir, Cemetery Committee, etc. She was a member of the Rebekah Court #4, Heroines of Jericho-Honorary Past Most Ancient Grand Matron of Queen of Sheba Most Ancient Grand Courts Heroines of Jericho, and Rock of Ages Chapter 15, Order of the Eastern Star. Clara was filled with a laughter you would never forget, a lady of deep convictions, and would “tell it like it is.” She had a generous heart and was loved and respected by those who knew her.
Clara is survived by four children: Terence Walters of Frankford, DE; Harold Walters (Laura) of Frankford, DE; Calvin Walters (fiancé Amanda Field) of Frankford, DE; Tanya Walters-Garrison (Joseph) of Parsonsburg, MD; one brother Gilbert Hall of Magnolia, DE; four sisters, Doris Hall -New Castle, DE; Lois H. Mumford (Morris) -Frankford, DE; Reba Rogers -Newark, DE and Marian Hall -Austell, GA. Also surviving: seven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.
Public viewing will be held on Friday, June 16, 2023, from 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM. Funeral: Saturday, June 17, 2023, at 12:00 PM with a viewing from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM. All services will be held at Union Wesley UMC, 32137 Powell Farm Road, Frankford, DE 19945. Interment to follow in the adjoining church cemetery.
