CLARENCE RICKARDS SR's Obituary
Clarence Rickards, Sr. "" Great Pop Pop Tinker"" of Georgetown, and formerly of Wilmington passed away at the Beebe Medical Center, Lewes DE on Friday, November 30, 2012. He was 78 years old. Born on January 23, 1934 in Wilmington, he was the son of the late Charles and Nettie F. Cox Rickards. He served during the Korean War in the US Navy, and was a Glazier, having served the Wilmington Plate Glass Company and retiring in 1995. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Lee Gilbert Rickards, and several siblings. He is survived by his children: Willie L. Rickards, and his wife, Nancy; Clarence Rickards, Jr., and his wife, Vincentia; John W. Rickards, and his wife, Shirley; William T. Rickards, and his wife, Ginger; Daniel Rickards, and his wife, Connie and daugher: Pattie Hamilton, and her husband, Wayne. He also leaves behind his companion, Stella Smith. He is also survived by sisters: Jeanette Simpler; and Lorraine Bramble and nine grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. He leaves behind many extended family members and friends. A Funeral Service and Celebration of His Life will be held at Watson Funeral Home; 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE on Tuesday, December 4, 2012 at 1:00 PM. Friends may call from 12 noon till 1:00 PM for visitation and viewing. Rev. Robert Hudson will officiate. Interment follows at Millsboro Cemetery. Floral tributes are welcomed.
