Cody Douglas Phillips' Obituary
Cody Douglas Phillips, affectionately known as “Cody Bear” and “Bear,” passed away on April 19, 2026. He was born on December 11, 1995, in Lewes, Delaware.
Cody was the beloved son of Crystal K. Price and her husband, Burleigh Price. He was a person who truly never met a stranger—his warmth, openness, and genuine kindness made everyone feel welcome. Cody loved people deeply and was a steadfast advocate for others, always willing to stand up for what he believed was right.
He had a passion for music and could often be found singing at the top of his lungs and dancing with joy. Cody was a lover of nature, finding peace in walks through the woods and capturing moments through photography whenever he could. He was known for his honesty and his fearless ability to speak from the heart. Cody also enjoyed practicing Tae Kwon Do and was excited to begin a new chapter in his life, starting a career alongside his friends at All About U Salon.
He was preceded in death by his biological father, Thomas B. Phillips; his brother, Dylon Phillips; and his step-sister, Kasey Price.
Cody is survived by his loving mother, Crystal K. Price and her husband, Burleigh Price; his life partner, Aryanna Sychev; his brother, Thomas B. “Brad” Phillips, II; and his cherished nieces, Serenity Phillips, Kaydance Phillips, Trinity Phillips, and Memorie Phillips. He is also survived by Stephanie Brenan and her children, Conner McGlone, Mackson Brenan, and Rowan Weigman; Angelina Roca and her daughter, Aracely Hernandez; his special aunt, Connie Steele; his aunt and uncle, Lisa and Steve Toomey; his cousins, Megan, Steven, and baby Elijah; and his special cousin, Tegan Rogers (Trish), along with niece Lorelei. Cody leaves behind many extended family members and friends who will miss him dearly.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 29, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Watson Funeral Home and Crematorium, 211 S. Washington Street, Millsboro, DE 19966. A viewing will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 AM prior to the service. Interment will follow immediately at Millsboro Cemetery.
Cody will be remembered for his big heart, his vibrant spirit, and the love he shared so freely with everyone he met.
