Constance M Paller's Obituary
Constance M. Paller
LEWES, DE- Constance "Connie" M. Paller of Lewes, DE, passed away at home in the presence of loved ones on Friday, April 20, 2018, after a years-long battle with Alzheimer's. She was 75.
Connie was born on February 9, 1943, in Bayonne, NJ, to Julian and Julia Kusel. She received a BA from Jersey City State College and her RN from the Bayonne Hospital School of Nursing. Connie married Joseph Robert "Bob" Paller in Bayonne in 1966 and after a short time in Sandusky, OH, they moved to Manchester, CT and then Enfield, CT. The family relocated to Aston, PA, in 1979, where Connie got a job at Riddle Memorial Hospital in Media. Once they moved to Delaware in 1997, she worked for Beebe Medical Center until she retired when she became ill.
Connie was a cheerful and compassionate daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother who loved the beach, her vegetable garden, word puzzles, a good joke, and ethnic recipes (Polish, Hungarian, Chinese-you name it). She also played a mean pinochle game and could be seen at various Catholic churches in the area on a Sunday morning. She loved spending time with family and will be sorely missed by all whose lives she touched.
She is survived by her four children, Julia Hulings (Tim) of Middletown, Joseph Paller (Lynne) of Newark, Sara Loveland (Richard) and Andrew Paller (Laura) of Hockessin, and eight grandchildren: Alexis, Kathryn, James, Anna, Bayla, Richard, Jack, and Ella. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband (2003) and only brother, Julian Peter Kusel of Frederick, MD (2014).
A celebration of life service will be held at a later date to be determined. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Catholic Charities or Delaware Hospice.
