Daniel LeCates Jr.
December 1, 1939 – November 28, 2024
Daniel LeCates Jr., 84, of Millsboro, Delaware, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2024, with his devoted wife, Dottie, by his side. Born on December 1, 1939, in Georgetown, Delaware, he was the son of the late Daniel and Jennie Pearl (Cooper) LeCates.
Daniel graduated from high school and dedicated 38 years of his career as a sales manager with Monumental Life Insurance Company. On April 29, 1961, he married the love of his life, Dorothy "Dottie" Marie Barto, in Seaford, Delaware, and together they built a life centered on faith, family, and love.
He proudly served in the National Guard and was a member of St. Luke’s, St. Phillip’s, and St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Millsboro, Delaware, where his faith was a cornerstone of his life.
Daniel was preceded in death by his parents; his beloved daughter, Holly Louise LeCates; three brothers, Ruben Henry, Randolf L., and William LeCates; and his sister, Mildred.
He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dottie LeCates; a sister Shirley Bramble of Seaford, DE, his cherished granddaughter, Logan Richard; and great-grandchildren, Macie and Theodore.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, at 2:00 PM at St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Millsboro, Delaware.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests contributions in Daniel’s memory to St. Mark’s Episcopal Church “Labyrinth Garden Fund”, PO Box 422, Millsboro, DE 19966.
Daniel will be remembered as a man of deep faith, unwavering love for his family, and a life well-lived.
