DAVIS B BARTLETT's Obituary
Mr. Davis B. Bartlett, of Millsboro, DE died at home on Friday, February 13, 2015. He was 83 years old. Mr. Bartlett was born in Smyrna, DE, son of the late Davis L. Bartlett and Izella Bradley Bartlett of Smryna, DE. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife of 28 years, Thelma Bartlett. He was a veteran of the Air force in 1950, after which time he became employed at Bellanca Aircraft of New Castle, DE. In 1956 he was employed by Swift & Co of Georgetown as a supervisor for 21 years, after which time he was employed by Townsends, Inc. of Millsboro, as a supervisor for 21 more years. After 42 years in the poultry industry, he retired in 2000. Davis loved the out of doors including fishing, hunting and gardening with flowers. He was known as pop-pop Dave to two wonderful grandsons; Paul and Jon Monroe whom he helped care for along with his wife Thelma for several years. In addition to his grandsons, he is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. A funeral service will be held at 12 Noon on Friday, February 20, 2015 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE, 19966, where friends may call after 11:00 AM. Burial will follow at the Millsboro Cemetery. Pastor Bob Hudson will officiate. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to the Cheer Center of Georgetown, 20520 Sand Hill Rd, Georgetown, DE 19947.
