It is so difficult and sad to have to say goodbye forever to your best friend's best friend, never jealous of her though. Mamaw was the first person to ever prepare southern grits for me, in 2002, and I ended loving what I thought I would be eating only out of respect for the host!! Dee, Mamaw was my Mother #2 and I was her Dominican daughter #2. "Mamaw, I don't eat grits! Mamaw": "Oh, stop it! Don't be a "ninny" baby and eat grits!" An unforgettable free spirit, unconventional and wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend, feisty, positive, and humorous classy lady, who was the life of any occasion! The best holidays memories in USA, I spent around her and her family. I am totally convinced Mamaw is in a better place, resting painless, peacefully. Upon check-in to heaven, she relaxed immediately making fun and joking around with God, Jesus and all those already up there. Mamaw will always be an angel, she was in life and continues to be. So, "Hasta La Vista Mamaw", I knows one day Jeffrey, Teddy and I will see you again!!
