Donaway ""Dee"" Timmons Vickers' Obituary
Donaway ""Dee"" Timmons Vickers, of Frankford, DE passed away peacefully at home on Friday, Dec. 21, 2012. He was 78 years old. Dee was born on March 20, 1934 in Frankford, DE to the late John William and Lena Mae Timmons Vickers. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded by a brother, William Emory Vickers in 2008. Dee retired from Delmarva Power after 25 years of service. In his early years he worked for the James Funeral Home, in Millsboro for approximately 14 years and also worked for the State of Delaware Highway Department. He also was a crop farmer. He loved baseball; he was a die hard ""Orioles"" fan. He also enjoyed football, hunting and working the land on his farm. He was a loving husband, devoted father, and grandfather. He loved spending time with his grandchildren who were the apple of his eye. He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Bessie Vickers of Frankford, DE; a son, William Dee Vickers and his wife Michelle of Frankford, DE; a daughter, Deanna Mae Price and her husband Darrin of Magnolia, DE; 5 grandchildren, Ryan, Madison, and Alexa Price, Miranda and David Vickers. He is also survived by numerous extended family and friends. A funeral service will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, December 28, 2012 at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call on Thursday evening from 6 - 8 PM and also Friday from 12 Noon - 1 P.M. Burial will follow at the Dagsboro Redmen's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests contributions to the Dagsboro Volunteer Fire Company, P.O. Box 128, Dagsboro, DE 19939. Letters of condolence may be emailed via www.watsonfh.com
