Dora E. VanZile's Obituary
Obituary Of Dora E. VanZile
Dora E. VanZile of Millsboro passed away on Saturday, November 27, 2021. She was 79 years old.
She was born on February 15, 1942, in Ithaca, NY to the late George H. and Eloise R. Emery Goff. In addition to her parents, she is also preceded in death by her husband James Martin in 1995, her longtime companion Mel Brittingham in 2019, daughter Judith Irene Nucci in 2014 as well as three siblings Howard Goff, Ruberta Goff and Edward Goff.
Before moving to Delaware from New York in 1988, Dora worked at Borden's Real Lemon Co. where she worked as a Lab Tech for approximately 26 years. Once here she worked at Pep Up for about 15 years before retiring.
Dora attended Bethesda United Methodist Church in Georgetown and was a former member of the Women of the Moose, Chapter 1814 in Lewes. She enjoyed yard sales, craft shows, going out to eat and her Amish butter that she would travel to Dover to purchase. Dora can be described as caring, loving and fun, but occasionally you would want to slap her because she knew how to be contrary. Even though she could be cranky at times she was loved dearly and will be dearly missed.
Dora is survived by a son Kevin E. VanZile (Penny) of Trenton, GA, one sister Carolyn Buchanan of Lewes, DE, two brothers Richard Jenney (Denise Whitman) of Millsboro, DE, and Dale Jenney (Tina Thompson) of Laurel, DE. She also leaves behind eight grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren, her best companion and greatest love her canine friends "Abby" as well as extended family and friends.
A funeral service will be held at 2:00 PM on Saturday, December 4, 2021, at the Watson Funeral Home, 211 S. Washington St., Millsboro, DE 19966, where friends may call from 1:00 PM - 2:00 PM for viewing and visitation.
Interment will be private.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations in Dora's memory to the American Heart Association, 131 Continental Dr., #407 Newark, DE 19713.
